I just finished putting together the layout for my final Typography project, a ten-page magazine spread in a Postmodernist style that matches the design philosophy of the article’s subject, Dieter Rams. Rams is a world-famous designer who has defined the principles of good design as we know it, implementing and changing our world through his products and public activism.
This project contains special attention to typeface selection, kerning, leading, image preparation, and grid layout. It is a compilation of all the techniques I have been working on for the past ten weeks. It is simple, but perfected – in the words of Dieter Rams, “less, but better.”
