One year ago, I took a picture in front of the most beautiful street of the most beautiful city I had ever visited, and then I entered the admissions building for the Savannah College of Art and Design to be absolutely blown away by everything inside. One week from now, I will be living on that same street with two beautiful roommates in a beautiful home working as a representative for SCAD in that same admissions building. Never in a million years would I have imagined myself in this position, even at the time of the photograph when I was standing in the exact area I would soon call home. I know I sound like a broken record here, but it truly is amazing to recognize how differently my life has played out than expected; at this point, I can barely imagine myself anywhere else. (Will I ever stop being so amused by all of this? Maybe after freshman year I’ll actually accept that this is my life…) Sometimes the best things are those that come unplanned. I am so thankful for everything this year has brought me and I could not be more excited to see what the future holds–whatever that may be.
